The Tourmalin, the Kristalin and the Grenatin, my three officially classified 4-star apartments in Vallorcine, in the Chamonix valley, are part of Gemlidays, the network of luxury holiday rentals that I founded. Gemlidays brings together properties all across France, chosen for their charm, their location and the consistency of their reviews, each run by a passionate host who manages the property personally and shares local tips.
Gemlidays, a network born from my experience as a host
After years of welcoming guests in Vallorcine, and travelling myself, I created Gemlidays. The choice of holiday rentals is huge, and it is often hard to spot the places that truly live up to their promises. Yet the best properties are often run by independent, attentive hosts who are deeply attached to their area, but isolated and lost among countless listings.
Gemlidays brings them together in a human-scale network that complements the booking platforms: an additional gateway, built on quality rather than volume. Every application is assessed against the same criteria, mine included. The name combines "gem", a rare find, and "holidays". To find out more, discover the story of Gemlidays.
A selection, not a directory
A place in the Gemlidays network cannot be bought: every application is reviewed and every host is contacted personally. The criteria are the same for everyone:
Verified quality: a property officially classified 4 or 5 stars by an accredited body, or checked by the selection committee against the GemSign criteria.
Consistently excellent reviews on Google and the booking platforms, monitored over time.
Hosts, not managers: the host runs the property personally, without a professional concierge service, and remains available to guests.
A complementary network: a variety of styles, sizes and destinations, with no competition between members.

Gemlidays does not take bookings on behalf of hosts: each host remains free to choose their sales channels, and each guest books through whichever channel suits them. Is Gemlidays a booking platform?
No. Gemlidays presents the properties and their hosts, then directs you to the booking channel chosen by each host: their own website or the booking platforms. Gemlidays complements these platforms.
How are Gemlidays properties selected?
The committee reviews the property, its location, its photos and its guest reviews, then speaks with the host. Only properties classified 4 or 5 stars, or checked against the GemSign criteria, and with consistently excellent reviews can join the network.
