How to come ?

The Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley: a unique site in the world but not at the end of the world! Nestled at the foot of Mont-Blanc and on the borders of Italy and Switzerland, the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley is easy to access whether by car, train or bus. Located less than 100km from Geneva airport, numerous private transfers or regular buses can take you to this small town in the mountains!

Road access

A40 motorway, to Saint-Gervais. Follow the direction of Chamonix Mont-Blanc then Argentières. In Argentières, take the direction of Col des Montets, Vallorcine.
220 km from Lyon / 95km from Geneva / 115km from Annecy / 186km from Turin / 260km from Zurich.

Pay attention to the regulations (Mountain law), from November 1st and until March 31st of each year, light vehicles, utility vehicles and motorhomes must:
> either have metal or textile snow chains in their trunk allowing at least two drive wheels to be fitted;
>or be equipped with four winter tires.
The equipment is of course useful in the event of snowfall. The Col des Montets can be tricky if you don't have suitable equipment.
If the Col des Montets is closed due to avalanche risk, you must then cross with your car the Montets Tunnel in the hamlet of Montroc after Argentière.

Access by train

SNCF stations in Chamonix and Vallorcine stations (Le Mont Blanc Express).

The Mont Blanc Express : the SNCF line serves all the villages from St Gervais-les-bains-le Fayet to Martigny (Switzerland) via Servoz, Les Houches, Chamonix, Argentière and Vallorcine.

By France: TGV to Annecy / Lyon / Bellegarde / Chambéry or Saint-Gervais les Bains le Fayet. Then Mont-blanc Express regional train from Saint Gervais les Bains le Fayet to Chamonix, then Vallorcine.

By Switzerland: Train from Geneva via Lausanne and Martigny.
Direct connection by the Mont Blanc Express train from Martigny to Vallorcine by train.

Trains every hour between Chamonix and Vallorcine (and sometimes every 30 minutes)
